For those of you who do not know my background, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis after, without any warning, waking up one day being unable to move the left side of my body. Maybe there were signs; dragging my feet, tripping, being very fatigued but nothing obvious.

After a seven-day stay in the hospital and numerous weeks of occupational and physical therapy, I started my battle of living with MS. The year following my diagnosis was very difficult. My MS was raging a war inside my body that left me angry and disheartened.

After consulting with my doctor, we decided on an aggressive two-year course of chemotherapy, which worked well. Unfortunately, I was forced to discontinue after eighteen months due to potential new found health risks. I am now waiting for new drugs, which I will take in conjunction with my current treatment. These drugs are on the horizon.

Ten months after being diagnosed, I decided to put together a team of family and friends and participate in a Multiple Sclerosis Walk. Our team raised an astounding $25,000 dollars. After seeing how successful our first fundraising effort was and how generous everyone was, we decided to start the Kelly Packowski MS foundation. Our goal is to change “one life at a time” and to make the burden of this illness a little more tolerable for individuals and families.

My dream is to help anyone struggling with this disease. No issue is either too big or small. I appreciate all that has been done to help raise money for the Foundation. We have come so far. I am grateful of your generosity and thank you for your interest in helping our Foundation and giving other people hope.
